Things Worth Remembering

The three habits that lead to success are: Patience, Application, and Vision.

Take care: The person who will tell others' faults to you - will tell yours to others.

It is always better to be underestimated.

There are three things that are better than riches: Health, Freedom, and Honor.

Think swiftly, speak softly, act wisely.

"The world is neither Scottish, English, nor Irish, neither French, Dutch, nor Chinese, but human, and each nation is only the partial development of a universal humanity." - James Grant on founding the National Association for the Vindication of Scottish Rights, 1862

Around the survivors, a perimeter create.

“Around the survivors, a perimeter create.” – Yoda, Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones

On Tuesday, Nancy peacefully left this life. One of her sisters, her son and his wife were with her at that moment. Her daughter and granddaughter had just left for the airport, after spending the weekend with her. All that’s left is to surround her family and friends with love and support as they move into this newest chapter of their lives.

Good-bye, Nancy, it was a pleasure to know you.

May the Force be with us all, Share!

      I’m so very sorry.

It’s so hard to lose a person you love, but it’s very sad for it to happen during the holidays.

    • I always enjoy your quotes, but this one seemed so… apt. Rest in peace, Nancy, and big hugs to the rest of you.

    • I’m very sorry for your loss. It’s really terrible to lose someone you love.

    • Thank you for all the lovely comments, everyone, but I should clarify because these two posts haven’t been about me at all. I’m very sad that Nancy is gone, of course, but my concern is for Nancy’s family and close friends.

Nancy is Bob’s mom, and she was a nice lady who I enjoyed seeing occasionally, but I never knew her terribly well. Bob and Eileen are the ones that have gone through hell this month and are reeling from the triple smack of being away from home (unexpectedly) for weeks on end, ceaselessly caring for someone they love that was critically ill, and then ultimately having to say a final good-bye to Bob’s mom.

I pass on all of your well-wishes in my heart. Thank you again for taking the time to think of Nancy, Bob and Eileen.

I’m sorry for your loss. A loss can be hard for the people directly involved, but it is also a drain on their support system.

I too am sorry for your loss.
