Things Worth Remembering

The three habits that lead to success are: Patience, Application, and Vision.

Take care: The person who will tell others' faults to you - will tell yours to others.

It is always better to be underestimated.

There are three things that are better than riches: Health, Freedom, and Honor.

Think swiftly, speak softly, act wisely.

"The world is neither Scottish, English, nor Irish, neither French, Dutch, nor Chinese, but human, and each nation is only the partial development of a universal humanity." - James Grant on founding the National Association for the Vindication of Scottish Rights, 1862

One of my projects this week has been to get our photo albums back under control. WooBoy. Just shoot me now.

I’ve finally gotten our 2006 album completed, after ordering double and triple copies of some photos. Oops. I just have to finish our 2006 vacation album now to be done with the traditional albums.   *I think I can. I think I can.*   From here on out, I’m going to make digital albums (a la, Shutterfly or SnapFish) and have those printed out with a few blank pages to tape in movie tickets, assorted mementos and handwritten notes. I feel lighter already. I was even able to give away my scrapbooking bag and some no longer needed supplies Tuesday night to someone who lives right in the neighborhood. Oh, how I love Freecycle.

Now, to just finish up that 2006 vacation album…

May the Force be with us all, Share!

    • Wow, the force must be strong in you indeed to get rid of scrap booking supplies. I am in awe!

    • I know! I was rather proud of myself for that. I must say, that it makes me shudder to even consider how many pictures you’re going to be working with after your European trip is finished. Worth the effort, to be sure! But WooBoy, that’s going to be a lot of pictures.

I’m impressed. I have to work on the “school” year albums and get those up to date. So far, I’ve organized the digital pics . . . we need a support group for this.

    • Ugh, yes. It will be a ton of pictures. Especially as my DH is very fond of taking pictures. But iPhoto has built in photo books – including a great travel theme that maps where you have been. I’m pretty much resigned to handing all our money over to Apple anyway….

I have albums to finish up too. I remember there was a time when I enjoyed the scrapbooking thing. Now I see the stickers and shudder

    • OMG! I can’t believe I was just whining about how behind I am in my scrapbooking. I have photos galore, but I really need to sit down and organize them and get them into albums.

What a good idea to just have digital books printed up.

But I don’t know if I can let go of my scrapbooking supplies. You’re a VERY strong woman!

    • P. S. I loved your last post. I’ll leave it at that.

    • What an undertaking!!

    • Ugh… I don’t even want to think about all the pictures I have that should be turned into albums… YIKES!!!

    • My eyes glazed over! I have SO many pictures I need to deal with. You want to do my pictures for me?

Haven’t had photo albums in about five years now. I figure that the fact that they are on disks is organized enough for me. I even did the whole digital scrapbooking thing for awhile, and then realized that was WAY too much trouble. So now I stay happy with the pics on discs. They are there if I ever need them. I WOULD, however, love to create those little contact sheets with thumbnails of what is on each disc. Now THAT would make me feel REALLY organized!! Best of luck with your pics…

OH you’ll love digital – so fast and easy!
I do all my pages on LumaPix FotoFusion. It’s super easy to use – I have a few templates I reuse often and just plug in pics. I can get 20 pages done in one Star Wars DVD… ;-) . Then just print at Costco for $1.39/page and put in an album. Voila. Easy peasy.

I’m going to try Shutterfly for a “this is your life” album for my daughters grad, though. We’ll see how it goes…

      Enjoy digi-scrapping!!
