Things Worth Remembering

The three habits that lead to success are: Patience, Application, and Vision.

Take care: The person who will tell others' faults to you - will tell yours to others.

It is always better to be underestimated.

There are three things that are better than riches: Health, Freedom, and Honor.

Think swiftly, speak softly, act wisely.

Well, I’ve done it again. I’m back on Twitter. Don’t ask me why. You can find me (and my infrequent tweets) listed as (what else?) obimomkenobi.

It would be way easier, though, if I had an iPhone. A beautiful, lovely iPhone. A sleek, app-happy iPhone. I’m not generally a “stuff-focused” person. Seriously. And yet I long for an iPhone – and electric boogaloo’s giant rubberized shit shield app. I definitely want that, too.

May the Force be with us all, Share!

    • OMG you’ve joined the “we want an iPhone” club with Mom #2 and me. Hopefully you’re not in the “we can’t afford it” club like we are, LOL.

No twittering for me. Have fun!

    • ROFL. Now that would be a handy app indeed!!!

    • Mom #1: Indeed,we are in the “can’t afford it club” but I’ve announced that everytime Mr. Sunday Morning Doughnut Buddy announces announces another of his Hair-Brained Schemes I get 10% of the cost of said Scheme. Therefore I should be able to afford one by lunch tomorrow. :-)

    • We’re getting by on our “shared” iPod Touch, but an iPhone would definitely be a nice upgrade!

    • ooooh I want one of these too. I long for it in a way that is unnatural for an electronic device. I could face the price- but the monthly charges make me cheap out. curses.

    • Eileen: It’s the monthly bit that puts it squarely in the “not possible” category for us. I can get a reburb’d one pretty cheap, but $70-90/month just isn’t possible on our budget. I struggle to pay $25 every three months for my Pay-Per-Call emergency-only mobile phone. :-( As PL says, “When will we stop being poor?”

I joined Twitter just because you’re on. Wow–Twitter! The more things change, the more they stay the same. Twitter’s format reminds me of the early days of on-line chatting groups. Or, party lines–hard to believe that my family had one in the late 60′s/early 70′s (the advantage over Twitter? No one knew you were logged on, which was great fun for a five-year-old.)

    • Hilary: BuWaHaHaHa! I feel so powerful now. We had a party line, too. Oh, the things I learned in secret…

    • I keep looking for a “bullshit” meter. (Besides my internal one, that is)
Does the iPhone have THAT app?

I’m still in the technological dark ages…pay as you go cell…no texting…no pics…

    • Theresa: We must be on the same plan then.

I’m behind the times as well. My cell phone is 3-4 years old. It does have a camera and access the internet, but I don’t know how it works. I have never sent a text message. It’s really for on the road emergencies, I never even take it out of the car. I’m actually afraid that if I got a smart phone, it would consume me. I spend too much time now at a keyboard. As for Twitter you will find me there as well. I will promptly be following you!

    • Now I think you were wise not to buy one. Because the 3G S phones are so pretty and they have a better camera and video and and and…. my iPhone just doesn’t seem quite so spesh now.
