Things Worth Remembering

The three habits that lead to success are: Patience, Application, and Vision.

Take care: The person who will tell others' faults to you - will tell yours to others.

It is always better to be underestimated.

There are three things that are better than riches: Health, Freedom, and Honor.

Think swiftly, speak softly, act wisely.

"The world is neither Scottish, English, nor Irish, neither French, Dutch, nor Chinese, but human, and each nation is only the partial development of a universal humanity." - James Grant on founding the National Association for the Vindication of Scottish Rights, 1862

Monsters out there, leaking in here.

“Monsters out there, leaking in here. Weesa all sinking and no power. Whena yousa thinking we are in trouble?” – Jar Jar Binks, Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace

Some things fall squarely into the “What were they thinking?” category. Qui-Gon Ginn has a talent for finding such things. Don’t ask me where she finds them, it is enough to know that she does. Make sure you have the volume on.

  • There I was, stressing about packing, thinking about the End of Year Homeschool Assessment, and now I’m lifting my arms, a total opposite of an eclipse of my heart.

  • OMG, that took me way back. Those old videos are already cheesy enough, but the added commentary makes it even more hilarious. What a fun find.

A friend of mine on Facebook shared this link with me, too! Sheer genius! I couldn’t believe how hokey that video was in the first place and how awesome the literal lyrics were!

  • Sandra: Thanks for the Twitter love.

JKubenka: I keep going back and watching it. It’s like a car accident! “Oh, avert the eyes, avert the eyes.”

  • ROFL. And there goes the weekend… on You Tube!

  • Funny video! BUT – you need to know that I now have this song permanently embedded in my consciousness -thank you SO much. I wake up and it’s there, and I wonder what I did to deserve a horrible 80′s soundtrack accompanying my life. The actual version came on the radio while ScoutDad and I were in a store last week, and we made complete fools of ourselves groaning and making faces. Monsters, indeed.
