We're waiting for the next movie, although I will have to screen it before we let Gamma watch it. His interests greatly exceed his age. I'm glad that Rowling's books matured along with the age of her initial audience, but am finding it hard to slow him down.

As for the fates of some beloved characters, I bawled my eyes out when I read these books. Of course, I bawled when Christopher Robin realized his was going off to school and leaving Pooh behind, too. I'm like that.

I took my daughter to see this yesterday. I was not expecting it to follow the book precisely, but I also knew that this would be the darkest HP yet. Since my kiddo has only read the first 5, the whole plot twisty stuff at the end of the movie threw her for a SERIOUS emotional loop. On the whole, we really really enjoyed the movie; it fostered serious conversation about the idea of the "noble sacrifice", the idea of the "needs of the many outweight the needs of the one", since my daughter adores Mr. Spock, and just what can be asked of one person. She is not anywhere close to making any kind of a decision on this matter, and I look forward to many more conversations with her about this.

We loved the 6th HP movie very much. :)
