Things Worth Remembering

The three habits that lead to success are: Patience, Application, and Vision.

Take care: The person who will tell others' faults to you - will tell yours to others.

It is always better to be underestimated.

There are three things that are better than riches: Health, Freedom, and Honor.

Think swiftly, speak softly, act wisely.

"The world is neither Scottish, English, nor Irish, neither French, Dutch, nor Chinese, but human, and each nation is only the partial development of a universal humanity." - James Grant on founding the National Association for the Vindication of Scottish Rights, 1862

How feel you? Cold, sir.

Yoda:   “How feel you?”
Anakin: “Cold, sir.”
Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace

Yeah, what he said.

It’s 18 F (-8 C) outside and the temperature is dropping fast with nightfall.

Remind me again why we live here? No wait, don’t answer that.

May the Force be with us all, Share!

    • Brrrrr!!!! It’s 95 here today – and climbing. And windy with an extreme risk of Bush fires. I think I’d be happy to swap.

    • I hear you. I don’t remember the last time my feet were warm. If you remember why we live in this climate, remind me.

    • Bonus! Our hot water heater just broke! So now we have cold water to go with the cold weather.

    • GailV: NO! That’s terrible! I hope it’s an easy fix.

    • Ugh. It’s been warm enough here that we saw a snake while “hiking” the property. I was p.o. Winter is supposed to be the safe time. Didn’t they get the memo? Hibernate already!

I’ll do my fair share of complaining (and then some) come summer.

    • What?! That’s too cold. That would be officially cold enough to pack up and leave. This year we got down to 36 on one night and I was almost in tears. I don’t really do cold weather. Our winter weather usually hovers near the mid 52s. It’s 52 today, and I think I’m cool with that. We usually have Christmas in the 70s, but I guess we’re having a heck of a weather year this year.

Stay warm. I’ll come by next summer. Y’all take winter way to seriously for me. ;-)
