Princess Leia: “Why, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf-herder.”
Han Solo: ”Who’s scruffy-looking?”
Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back
Well, at present I am.
With Dad Windu off relaxing at his brother’s house, it was just Padawan Learner and I hanging out this afternoon and evening so we decided to have a Star Wars movie marathon in the basement. We ran through Episodes I, II and IV. For some reason PL decided to skip III, which surprised me, but perhaps it was just to be kind. I think he knows that’s my least favorite one.
As any self-respecting movie marathoner knows, that means nothing more pulled together than comfy pants, piles of pillows and blankets, and those fine lunch/dinner/snack combos of What’s in the fridge? and What’s left in the cupboard? and Do we have any extra Christmas goodies still in the freezer?
I hope you all had a good weekend, too.

Aww, i still love III . .. . even tho its dark and violent. When I saw it in the theater, keeping in mind I’ve seen EVERY episode in the theater (and i’m not much in to movies any more) . . . I felt like my life was complete! Ok, the acting is horrid. But its . . . its . . idk. Cant dis the final piece!
Sounds like fun to me.
I don’t like #3 either.
We haven’t seen II or III. Am I kicked off as a reader now? DH and I saw I, didn’t much care for it, but it was o.k. James had come along by II and III and he’s maybe just getting to the age where they would be o.k. for him (he loves the old ones, but he’s pretty sensitive). I I’m sure would be o.k., from what I’ve heard about the others, I’m not too sure.
Well, I hope I can keep reading
.
OMK – You’re more than welcome to keep reading, Holly. I’m glad to have you here.
Wait wait wait wait wait- Revenge Of The Sith is your LEAST favorite? Have you actually seen Attack Of The Clones???
OMK – You’ll notice FILMChris that I didn’t name myself FILMObi-Mom.
#3 is just too dark and sad for my tastes. I know what has to happen to move the films into 4-6, and it’s just tragic to me.
We had a wonderful 24 weekend! Jammies and junk food! Ah, what a life!
I went to my parents for an overnight visit and dh and the boys . . . settled in for a Star Wars triple feature (the three “classics”). I just *knew* there was a reason we were friends!
I love that quote.
Sounds like a fabulous time with your son. (And I don’t like III either.)
I’m overdue for a good movie marathon. Might just steal this idea!!
