Luke: ”Vader’s here, now, on this moon.”
Princess Leia: “How do you know?”
Luke: ”I felt his presence. He’s come for me. He can feel when I’m near. That’s why I have to go. As long as I stay, I’m endangering the group and our mission. I have to face him.”
Princess Leia: “Why?”
Luke: [pause] “He’s my father.”

Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi

Dad Windu and Padawan Learner are in the middle of a Star Trek Enterprise marathon. We borrowed Season 3 from the library and you only get one week with the seven DVDs in the package. Theoretically, you can renew the rental and keep them another week. I say theoretically because there is always someone that has a hold on them. If there is a hold waiting for them, you may not renew them.

Therefore, DW & PL have hunkered down and are making a go of it. Picking it up on Tuesday, they’re on disc 5 tonight. I, personally, think this is completely insane. I’m glad they enjoy it so much. And I’m even more glad that they don’t expect me watch so many in a row. Call me a Sci-Fi scofflaw, but there is just so much I can take. It’s nice to see them get head-over-heels excited about something together, though, as they’re such different people generally. Personality-wise, they’re frightfully similar but interest-wise they’re pretty different.

OK, I admit that I often enough sit through the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice (yes, all five hours of it) without any problem, but I usually have a hard time being trapped on the couch for much more than an hour or so. I even have to make myself stay sitting in movie theaters, because that much screen watching tends to make me a bit fidgety. Luckily, I almost always really, really need to hit the restroom halfway through (it’s those dastardly frozen cokes that I love so much), so I usually get to stretch my legs a bit. Sorry FilmChris, but I’m afraid it’s true.
