Shmi Skywalker: ”All slaves have a transmitter placed somewhere in their body.”
Anakin: ”I’ve been working on a scanner to try and locate mine.”
Shmi Skywalker: ”Any attempt to escape…”
Anakin: ”And they blow you up! BOOM!”
Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace
While I can’t say that I’m a slave to my habits, I do act like it sometimes. It’s only when my routine is thrown out of whack, which happens around holidays, when traveling, having house guests and such, that I stop to think about what I’m actually doing on a day-to-day basis and why.
Two nasty, lazy habits that I’ve noticed lately and am trying to put to rest are:
- Pulling my hair back into a ponytail every.single.day instead of taking the 90 seconds to put in some styling mousse. It’s amazing what that little extra step can mean for my curls.
- Roaming around the house until noon in my jammies and taking a shower when Padawan Learner is off playing with the also homeschooled neighbor kids during their lunch break. It means getting up a bit earlier to shower before waking PL up, and avoiding the computer first thing in the morning, but it’s proving worthwhile.
